About the Role

This is a founding senior attorney opportunity at an AI-native law firm in Germany, building the firm's client base and market presence from the ground up. You will bring an established portable book of business onto a proprietary agentic legal platform, acting as both a client-facing rainmaker and a key voice in shaping the firm's commercial growth. The role sits at the intersection of law practice and legal technology, and suits a senior practitioner who genuinely believes in the AI-driven future of legal services.

What You'll Do

• Transition and continue serving your existing client book on the firm's AI agent platform.

• Open top-of-funnel opportunities through your private equity, venture capital, and mid-market network.

• Cross-sell commercial and compliance legal services into your existing client base.

• Collaborate with the founding team to move recurring matters onto the AI automation platform.

• Help shape the firm's growth trajectory as a founding equity-holding partner.

What We're Looking For

• 12 or more years of experience as a partner-level attorney at a top-ranked German law firm, with a focus on PE/VC and corporate sectors.

• German-qualified Volljurist with active Rechtsanwalt bar admission.

• A portable, personally held client book of €1M or more, weighted toward PE/VC clients and their portfolio companies.

• Diversified client base across multiple sectors and company sizes, not dependent on a small number of large institutional clients for revenue.

• Recurring, automatable work in your book such as commercial contracts, IT and data, corporate/VC advisory, or regulatory matters; not litigation-only.

• Feasible transition path with a notice period and client migration achievable within approximately 6 months, and no restrictive non-competes preventing book portability.

• Native-level German proficiency for client work and professional English fluency.

• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as large language model assistants or legal AI platforms in daily practice.

• A Dr. iur. or LL.M. qualification is a plus.

• Germany-based and fully work-authorized; no visa sponsorship is available.

Compensation & Benefits

Base compensation of €200,000 to €300,000 annually, plus meaningful equity in a technology-driven legal venture. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Germany-based, with Berlin in-person work preferred. Hybrid arrangement with flexibility for remote work.
